Profile:	French composer and ethnomusiclogist born in Lille, France in 1939. Member of the Laboratory of Ethnomusicology at Musée de l'Homme 1965-99. Member of the Groupes de recherches musicales (GRM) from 1969-99. Teacher at Gennevilliers's Conservatory of music (near Paris) 1979-97.
