Yoel also launched an independent record label before joining Universal Music. He then moved to London to work at Universal Music International where he served in various positions in areas of marketing, A&R and new technology. In 2001 he was appointed as the CEO of mp3.com Europe and later joined SonyBMG as its Senior Vice President of International Marketing and Business Development. He counts the international marketing strategies for Dido, Avril Lavine & Christina Aguilera as particular career highlights.
In 2005, Yoel moved to Africa, launched Runway Music, and in 2009 he founded Africori, a digital music rights company specialised in the emerging markets and Africa. In 2013 he bought Cool Spot Records.
