Mark Kavanagh is to Ireland as Andy Farley or Tony De Vit are to the British dance scene. He's been DJing in major nightclubs in Ireland since the very early 1990's making a name for himself as a DJ in the Olympic Ballroom around 91,92ish becoming a regular headliner there & also making a name for himself as a producer in the dance music act the "Soundcrowd" along with Mr. Spring around the same time releasing many classics such as Ringsend, Sixth Season, Dream Lover & many more on Red Records. In 1995 Mark went his own way after Red Records was shut down & influenced by Tony De Vit he started playing more harder sounding stuff. He soon got his own radio show & became the driving force behind the Hard House scene & the Dance music scene in general in Ireland. He was one of the DJ's on a star studded line-up for the final night of the legendary Ormand nightclub in 1997. Mark set up his own Hard House label called "Baby Doll Records" in 1998 with the first release being dedicated to the legendary Tony De Vit who had just recently died. His label was a hit with most releases being top quality Hard House & one of his protege's Alan Pullen making a name for himself on the label. Mark writes a weekly column in the Irish Daily Star newspaper every Friday on the dance scene & still produces quality music like "Mark Kavanagh Goes Ga Ga" a 2012 remix of the classic trade tune that appeared on TDV's Trade Volume one mix called "Yo Yo - Ga Ga" . Mark has released tunes on just about all the biggest & best Hard House labels from "Kaktai Records" to Viscous Circle" from "Trade Records" to Tripoli Trax". Mark really has done all there is to do in the dance music scene.
