absolutely genius band. constantly swaying in between a gorey, extreme hellfire and a deep dark depression to want to do more with your life. people hate it because it doesn't fit a certain style or a certain aesthetic. THAT'S what metal music was supposed to destroy, the concept of bandwagoning and pretentiousness, not to create a whole new cesspool of it.

There is no denying Deafheaven kicks major ass...But is it me the only one to notice a sickening resemblance to Wolves In The Throne Room?
I mean come on boys and girls it's there for all to see..There is nothing new under the sun,and the amazing part is that Deafheaven have reached other audiences that WITTR simply by beeing lebeled as "post" or whatever by some industry jack asses or some "open minded" fans that see "post" as an elegant term to throw around just to sound intelectual...Open your eyes..It is black metal, nothing more.
