Singapore but in ltaly a few years earlier. The boys were touring in an unforgiving bright orange T967 Cadillac ambulance
(as one does!) and unknowingly pulled into a notorious drinkers hangout residing on a lone rivers edge. The premise was
aptly named ‘River Bar’. This inlamous bar was veritably littered with empty bottles and broken hearts and it was here they
decided to give a concert — their iirst as a duo. Fortunately the music was embraced and the local spirits in all manner lifted.
Enthused by this new lound collaboration the boys packed up and headed down the highway in search of o deserving
band name and expresso. It was on this occasion they hit upon the name Vigilante Safari Mafia — Vigilante seen on the
side oi a security vehicle, Salari a name to be lectured on a forthcoming Vamos album and Malia because the boys were
now ensconced deep in the south oi Italy. Unwittingly they soon learned (by way oi no bookings) that Malia in a band name
was certainly not welcome among Italian festival organisers. Next consideration was the Kamikaze Vespa Club attributed to
the maniacal motorcyclists zooming up and down the auto strada at more than questionable speeds, but this name was also
short lived and finally they became known as The Famous Unknowns.
