Horny was initially released as an instrumental on Horny / Bad Boy.
Inaya Day created the hook as a double entendre due to the horns on the original mix. Inaya lived in Düsseldorf, Germany and had worked with Boris Dlugosch and Mousse T. on Keep Pushin' and its follow up, Hold Your Head Up High.
The verses were written and performed by Emma Lanford, who was later joined by Nadine Richardson, a friend from Birmingham.
