First all-American steel band. Founded in 1957 by 10th Naval District (Caribbean Sea Frontier) commander Rear Admiral Daniel V. Gallery (of U-505 capture fame); American folklorist Pete Seeger and Trinidadian pan tuner Ellie Mannette. Informally known as Admiral Dan's Pandemonaics, the band was stationed in Puerto Rico until 1973; moved to New Orleans, LA. Disbanded in 1999.
