British composer, pianist and educator.
Born: 25th August 1947 Bristol, England.
Died: 14th June 2020 London, England.
Known for embracing jazz in both the composed/arranged big-group tradition, and smaller improvisational groups, as well as venturing into solo piano performances/recordings later in his career. Was leader/co-leader of many groups including Ovary Lodge, Centipede (3), Mujician and others. He has played and recorded with various members of Soft Machine and Chris McGregor's Brotherhood Of Breath among other groups. He also played on the second, third and fourth King Crimson albums (1970-71). Married Julie Driscoll in 1970 and made several duet and other formation recordings with her.
