Profile: | Dutch singer-songwriter, producer and radio DJ, born December 29, 1940, in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Most famous for his singles with Peter Koelewijn & Zijn Rockets in the 1959-1966 period. With his 1959 breakthrough hit Kom Van Dat Dak Af he instantly became a founding father of Dutch-language rock and roll but Koelewijn is also a successful producer and songwriter for other Dutch artists. More recently his 1977 solo debut has become something of a cult album, getting an English language release as well. In 2018 his autobiography Peer (Zestig Jaar Nederpop Voor Het Voetlicht & Achter De Schermen) was published, cowritten by Tjerk Lammers. |
