The Presidents Of The United States Of America

Profile:

Alternative rock band from Seattle, WA formed in December 1993. The Presidents of the United States of America rose to fame in the mid 1990's thanks to the radio hits 'Lump', 'Kitty' and 'Peaches', which helped propel the group's 1995 self-titled debut to multi-platinum status. In 1996 the Presidents released their 2nd album 'II'. The group disbanded in 1998, so that frontman Chris Ballew could spend more time with his family. A farewell concert followed in February and a rarities album, 'Pure Frosting', was released in March 1998. In May 2000, the trio got back together for their third album 'Freaked Out and Small', played one reunion show, and then went their separate ways again. In October 2002, the Presidents of the U.S.A. announced their return.
