super band , saw them once - very trippy , surreal and stunning.....cool bands back then that lacked the ball licking social stardom trip so many bands and acts play now , it was more honest and real and less fake back then.....

What can you say about The Oroonies? One of the great lost bands that never got the credit they truly deserved. Weird and wonderful they had to be experienced live. At times magical, at other times terrifying, always unpredictable and more often than not, challenging. They would appear in deep dark corners at deep dark hours of the night. Wherever they played controversy would follow. I once heard someone describe their music as "out of order". Another time there was a complaint made because they were "too weird". If you get the chance and your feeling brave track down any of the cassette releases, dim the lights and turn it up. (Later stuff is good but the majik lies in the early material)as for the live experience, those days are gone for good my friends, those days are gone for good. Vive la Oroonies.
