High-King was a unit under Hello! Project, consisting of Ai Takahashi (leader), Reina Tanaka (both from Morning Musume), Saki Shimizu (Berryz Kobo), Maimi Yajima (°C-ute) and Yuuka Maeda (Hello! Pro Egg and later S/mileage in 2009) originally to do one single release, "C\C (Cinderella\Complex)" in June 2008, however, in 2009, High-King was revived during the shuffle unit revival period with all five original members along with several other dormant units. Since their revival, they released two more singles via compilations in Hello! Project, "Diamonds", a cover song in July 2009 and a new original song, "DESTINY LOVE", in December 2009. The unit remained active during 2010 and 2011, regularly appearing on Hello! Project tours and even doing a variety skit in a Hello! Magazine DVD release in January 2010.

Following Ai Takahashi's graduation from Morning Musume and Hello! Project in 2011, High-King did a final performance together at her graduation concert and announced their disbandment following her departure from the umbrella. High-King, however, have occasionally reformed with some of their members for special events, such as Hello! Project's 15th anniversary in 2013 and Berryz Kobo's graduation concert in 2015.
