Their first single under their new name via a Hello! Project comptilation was a cover song called "Mirai Yosouzu II" in July 2009. In October, Erika Umeda graduated from C-ute and Hello! Project, effectively graduating from ZYX-α as well. Koharu Kusumi also graduated in December 2009 and ZYX-α resumed touring in January 2010 as a six member group, like the original ZYX formation. ZYX-α continued to remain active throughout 2010 and 2011, appearing in various Hello! Project tours and even doing a variety skit in 2010 for a Hello! Magazine DVD.
In January 2011, ZYX-α ceased activities with five other shuffle units following the conclusion of the winter 2011 tour that month, unofficially confirming ZYX-α's disbandment. In January 2013, however, ZYX-α reunited with its remaining members within the Hello! Project umbrella, Momoko Tsugunaga, Maasa Sudo, Chinami Tokunaga and Ayaka Wada, to celebrate Hello! Project's 15th anniversary, singing ZYX's single "Shiroi TOKYO". Former Hello! Project member and ZYX-α member Risa Niigaki appeared on stage with them as a guest member for that day.
