Septic Flesh

Real Name:
Septicflesh
Profile:
Metal band formed in March 1990 in Athens, Greece.
Disbanded in October 2003 & reunited in 2007.

Members were also involved in Thou Art Lord and Chaostar.

The band name was originally Septic Flesh, but changed to "Septicflesh", this was confirmed by Christos Antoniou in a Lords of Metal interview. The reason behind the decision was that it looked better, although the meaning was the same.

It's a real shame these guys are (for whatever reason) embarrassed about their original output. I know they've changed a lot in 20+ years, but come on man, repress your damn albums with the original awe-inspiring artwork that we all fell in love with after listening to your albums for years. I can't throw on Return to Carthage, or Έσοπτρον, or Shamanic Rite, or Marble Smiling Face without envisioning those original covers. Why, oh why does Seth have to insist on changing them to his new style, that doesn't fit the overall aesthetic and tarnishes the heavy themes they were pushing at the time. Small change to complain about to some, but as someone who has fallen in deep, deep love with those first four albums? It really hurts to see.
