David Hindmarch

Leicester based blind musician who has done remarkable things considering his handicap. He played in a number of alternative/experimental projects in the 1990s, including Marshmallow Maelstrom (with Carl Peberdy) and Shapeshifter (4). He later went on to study electroacoustic composition at Birmingham University (BEAST, directed by Jonty Harrison) and graduated after releasing two CDs of his work.
David's style is heavily indebted to the French pioneers of INA-GRM, Cologne-WDR and Trevor Wishart (amongst others) using found sound, granular synthesis, voice, etc., characterised by unique tricks he learnt with using computer editing programs.
