January 21, 2010Two vinyls under the belt, I feel both of them carries one superb track and a forgettable filler. The good tracks I'm talking about are 'True Freedom' and 'Identify'. Both of them being stand-out examples of intense and complex acid. 'True Freedom' is their most well known track, found on a few compilations. It's a hard hitting party track you could also play in a hard trance set without problems.
The reason why Hiscore is so special to me personally is 'Identify'. In the later half of this track, after a speech sample, there's so exquisitely programmed, fierce in-yer-face high pitch acid section I'm honestly out of words trying to describe it. I've yet to hear something even remotely similar. Something with an impeccable attention to detail, that genuinely sounds intelligent (!). There's so many acts that made/make "hard acid", but all too often are guilty in creating mind numbingly simple productions, so Hiscore in that sense is an excellent exception. Definitely a recommended group for any acid/goa head out there.
