Depth, delicacy and detail are the key elements of Polar Inertia's textured and luxurious sound palette. In less than a handful releases in just as many years, the collective has gathered a substantial following, for good reason too. Their vast, atmospheric productions are something to behold. The intricately layered music they deliver is picture perfect deepness with hard hitting club potential. Not too much of that going on in techno these days. The multifaceted tracks that emerge from their studio resonate with clever programming, lavish soundscapes and clinical layering. Not only that, they are anchored by thick, pulsating percussion patterns, firmly designed to cause damage on dance podiums. Witnessing their drum kicks bounce off of concrete walls of clubs as slabs of meticulous spheres are gradually peeled off is an experience onto itself.

They have overcome the mighty task of not making ten minute pieces sounding like loops on repeat. Their foggy productions move, meander and shed as they progress, yet always maintain a steady focal point, a common thread if you will. Diverse, risky, ample? Definitely! Loose, not centered, pretentious? Not in the least bit. All that, and then some, makes them one of my favorite techno acts of the last few years. So much achieved on such a frugal release schedule. Remarkable.

Before I forget, the remixes they have done for SNTS and DSCRD are sterling as well. Do not let them pass you by. I've not heard anything with their name attached to it that wasn't worth purchasing. All efforts of worth and excellence are difficult.
