Originally 'Holding Back the Years' was written while Mick Hucknall was a punk. Despite its later butterfly variant, you might wonder what the original sounds like - the cover features Hucknall posing, forcing a gun into his mouth. This, erratic group formed after being immediately inspired by The Sex P's, offered interesting works in progress (among which 'Passion' seems the best) - it is raw energetic punk affair without insight of what was soon coming - Simply Red. Mick Hucknall's soulful beautiful voice might be of interest within a punk format but Frantic Elevators still do sound more like a bunch of typically punky-trendy brats back then.
