Moritz Baumgärtner

German jazz drummer born in 1985 in Zurich, Switzerland .
He began classical drumming at the age of nine in Basel, Switzerland. After having received private lessons in New York City from Clarence Penn and Jochen Rueckert in 2005, he studied at the Jazz Institute Berlin with John Hollenbeck, Jim Black, Jeff Ballard, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Greg Cohen. He has collaborated with musicians as mit Perry Robinson, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Lorenz Kellhuber, Theo Bleckmann, Elias Stemeseder, Hayden Chisholm, Charlotte Greve, Ack Van Rooyen, Christian Weidner, Athina Kontou, Johannes Bigge, Oliver Lutz, Gabriel Coburger, Johannes Lauer and Julia Hülsmann
