one of my favourite finds of 2011. amazing samples, good beats, humorous lyrics and there isn't a bad song nor album by them. as the reviewer quoted below, the main spearhead is the excellent Young Einstein, who has extremley amazing ear for unearthing odd records from the 60s, some with a lot of Brazilian//Bossa nova feel to them. but also neither Andy C and Dizzy Dustin are bad lyricists either (the song "Andy Vs. Dizzy" highlights this!) For beginners i reccomend Grabbing Taste The Secret and the japanese only "greatest hits" compliation, which features a great remix off "let it out" with Scha Dara Parr. 5/5.

Favorite rap group of all time. Amazing beats and the lyricists are extremely original. Very upbeat and positive, just the stuff you need if you dont want to hear any of that hard stuff. DJ einstein is one producer to look up to, i compare him to dj premier and pete rock of dopeness. I think everysong Ugly Duckling has made is dope. i wish they made more cd's i cant get enough

What's the current status of Ugly Duckling? How often do you speak with both Dizzy and Young Einstein these days?
If I'm being honest, there is no status and no future plans. I speak with Einstein semi-regularly and almost never hear from Dustin. I think, we accomplished everything we set out to do together and, at some point, I realized there was nowhere else to go within the concept of our group. I was scared to leave the only band (and production partner in Einstein) that I'd ever had, but I knew that I needed to set out in a different direction, if I was going to find anything new within myself as an artist. And since I left, I've been extremely blessed to find constant excitement and inspiration for music. It was like re-discovering childhood laughter and sprinting to the playground.
