Simply gorgeous IDM/glitch-infused electronica that is as idiosyncratic as it is complementary. Ticks off all the right boxes: Raster-Noton-esque datastreams, Tetsu Inoue-flavored 'techno', pulsing 90s cyclical ambient, playing on moods alternately eerie, charming, soothing, and provocative. Dead J does it all, and even if the sounds he constructs are reflective of times past, it's done with such aplomb, singularity of purpose, and strokes of invention that you can't help but be dazzled by it all. Criminal that this guy isn't better recognized, as he stands head-and-shoulders above the pack. Each of his discs is imminently shelfworthy and required listening. Get his catalog before it vanishes in to the ether.
