The Justin you talk to on Facebook is a catfish. I released Justin's music back then and am still friends with him (he isn't on Facebook and has no plans to join), he finds the fact people are impersonating him on Facebook very creepy and has a legal team ready to confront anyone who tries to bootleg him.

Justin is not - and never will be - on FB. The person you have communicated with is definitely NOT him. The link posted by ittf is correct, and there are hundreds of people who can confirm this to be the case.

Odd. I talk to Justin on Facebook and he has never mentioned this. I was wondering if it was a different Justin when I read over the site you linked. I am happy to report that Justin's Pacific Records output will be reissued in the near future.

This guy is seriously talented - like the UK's equivalent to Gemini - imagine if he had as many releases as Spencer Kincy! Imagine if Gemini kept going too! Of course people move on and life takes turns which cause people to leave the scene behind but i don't think anyone would disagree that if Justin David got back in the studio and churned out music like he did in the past that it wouldn't have a good impact. One can only wonder why he was so productive to suddenly just stop - hopefully its for good reasons! : )

Justin David released nearly all his records in just three short years - 1995-97 - and then all but disappeared. Alongside other UK-based producers such as Aubrey, Mark Ambrose and Jamie Read, he made his mark with a series of releases that loosely fit the "tech house" cathegory; lush chords, jazzy keyboards, lively basslines and busy percussion. Eminently pleasing to the ear, and great to dance to as well, although I've never actually heard a DJ play any of his tunes. My one gripe is that his attempts at more Chicago/Relief-styled tracky stuff are less successful, such as the A side on FMT 001.

Most of Justin David's records were issued on his own Future Monument label, which folded after just six releases. And it seems mr. David himself withdrew from the scene entirely around the same time; he hasn't released any more music, anyway. There's one strange exception, though; a record credited to his Fifth Level alias suddenly appeared out of nowhere in 2002, but the original version isn't on it, just two (dreary) electro house remixes by Ewan Pearson. I've no idea what the original sounds like, seems it never saw the light of day.

So, another "whatever happened to...?" story, then. Hopefully nothing sinister, perhaps he lost the itch to put stuff out? Solid discography, anyway; I can recommend all the releases under his own name, and the first Fifth Level record; good tunes to be found on each and every one of them.
