His identity is pretty easy to work out—should take you about a half an hour of internet detective work. But since his anonymity is deliberate, why not keep it that way?

Who cares. Sounds a bit hype from outside... Maybe mystery shouldn't overshadow his music which might sound 'fine I guess but not really outstanding' to some ecclectic ear. I guess meanwhile some unknown but (at least) equally talented ambient producer is waiting for such a spotlight. No rage :)

Whoever the artist is they are VERY connected to Marja de Sanctis... She's done all of his album art, limited edition items, video installations and appears to be present at most if not all live performances....

Is it really Alessandro Cortini? After I saw AC live in Toronto a few years back, in a decommissioned generating station no less, the similarities to AM became too hard to ignore. It's fun to guess who is behind this project, and what their motivations are for hiding behind a persona that is just too good to be true, but ultimately the music speaks for itself.

For me a lot of Abul Mogard's work sounds similar to Tim Hecker's Ravedeath. Coincidentally Abul Mogard's first release was in 2012, Ravedeath was released in 2011...
