Ian Penman wrote a great article on Prince for the London Review of Books, titled "The Question of U". It also appears in his essay collection "It Gets Me Home, This Curving Track", which I would recommend to any music enthusiast.

It is absolutely stupid that the "Prince & The Revolution"-releases are not listed here.
Everyone searching discogs for a Prince discography expects these records to be filed under "Prince".
It gets even more stupid when you see the "Prince & The NPG"- and "Prince & 3rdEyeGirl"-releases in this list here.

Can anyone tell me if the hits can be found on LP?

Hey all, Has anybody noticed that Prince's -Erotic City is not on this list.

Agree with Vog's comment, all of Prince's work should be included in one place, it's daft to treat Prince & The Revolution separately

Been listening to a lot of Prince recently since his rediculously early death. Was the first artist I started listening to from about 12 years old and have loved him ever since ( I am 47 now!). I struggled with his material after the Black Album but he was still able to surprise and keep the funk and I don't care what anybody else says there was no better live act on the planet! His first 11 albums plus all the brilliant extended versions on the 12"s mean so much to me, they bring back so many memories, being at Wembley for the first night of Lovesexy and coming on stage in a car! Going to see under the cherry moon at the cinema in Leicester Square and being the only person in there with my mate, sitting at the front and dancing to every song!! I will treasure his music until I am old and grey! Miss you Christopher Tracey!!

It makes ZERO sense that Discogs includes the NPG and 3rdeyegirl (and 94 East?!) albums here but lists the Revolution albums and "Artist" albums separately. Please just put them all in the same place. Thanks.
Also 1999 is a Revolution album. And the German release of the Gold Experience promo is here. Lord, what a mess.

Wondering if anyone can help with a release. I've got a "Kiss" bootleg, white label single sided, no info at all, kind of breakbeat/house (not the Daft Punk one!!!). I can't find any info anywhere and went through all the releases on this page. Anyone have any hints on this? It was bought in the early 2000s I think. Many thanks.

Prince is music. No one does it better. His vocal range, the dark poetry of his song writing, his emotional connection, his spirituality, guitar and piano skills, his perfectionism, his work ethnic, the versatility, the energy especially in the 80's. Untouchable. Reach for the stars. I wish you heaven.

leafoscillot But you also have to wonder why the 2nd an artist of this calibre dies everyone suddenly rushes to buy. That's about as suspect as it comes. Why now? Why not when he was alive and needed the album sales to support himself. I always find it odd that the ones that get mad are the ones trying to get stuff after an artist dies. Just makes you wonder. I love PRINCE and have since I was a tiny kid who got his ass kicked for wearing a Purple Rain t-shirt almost daily when I was 13. Back then his gender-fuck attitude did not sit well in small towns but I still threw the love to him. He was a miracle to me. Long story short. The man wasn't a hater. Don't hate. It is what it is. And no matter how high his catalog sells for now nothing will change what is and bring him back. I think he'd be honored to see his catalog blow up - shows respect. Peace to you all.
