With his left hand on the analog tape recorder and the piano keys below his right, he grew up in a time when techno music began to fragment into a number of subgenres - deep house was heavily influenced by disco and even merged into a disputable disco house genre.
In 2010 he stumbled on a sequencer for the first time. This was his entry into the universe of electronic music production. Since 2011 Ansgar Scheffold is also performing live. He started to deejay in several underground clubs until he found his way to public events. Over time he gradually built up his own record studio. There followed the first publications and remix productions.
His releases tend to focus on musical complexity by melting borders of untouched nature with electronic sounds. Various genres combined to a funky mixture while still keeping the basement consisting of minimalistic rhythms with rugged bass lines and rolling percussions - withal, soundscapes which are faintly reminiscent of the chicago and detroit house scene. Even though the origin of house music was based on samples, Ansgar Scheffold loves change and alternation to draw attention to minor decorative features and details.
His latest release ‘Calling You’ reached thousands of listeners by late 2013 and has featured on online magazines like trndmusik.de and room84.ch. The young exceptional talent’s debut EP Tiefflug (out on Tempura Records) is also available on Beatport since Nov 2013!
His releases are supported by artists such as: Maceo Plex, Luciano, Marco Carola, Nicole Moudeaber, Derrok, Carl Cox, Jamie Jones, Richie Hawtin and many more
