After Shakin' Stevens left the band The Sunsets went solo or had releases with Johnny Storm or Little Tina for example.
There were many changes in The Sunsets line up over the decades.
The later band The New Sunsets changed to The Sunsets again under the leadership of Dave "Batman" Goddard (Dave "Batman" Goddard was a founder member of The Backbeats).
From 2007 on Shakin' Stevens's nephew Levi Barratt became their front man for some time.
At New Year's Eve gig 2012 / 2013 the temporarily end of the band came but just to change their name from 2013 on to "Lewis Clayton & The Cyclones" with the same line up (Penarth Times 25 Jan 2013). Not later than February 2016 The Sunsets came back again with new line up. Levi Barratt was back again (lead guitar + vocals) (Penarth Times 12 Feb 2016).
Facebook site still at work in April 2017.
Shakin' Stevens And The Sunsets were formed from the nucleus of The Backbeats who played from the late 1950s and through the 1960s, from approx 1959 under the guidance of Paul Barrett (5).
Paul Barrett (5) later became the manager of Shakin' Stevens And The Sunsets.
