Profile: | Alex Sadkin was an American record producer, mixer and mastering engineer born April 9, 1949 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA.First trained as a mastering engineer, he became an assistant engineer in 1975 at Criteria Recording Studios in Miami. When Chris Blackwell, founder and owner of Island Records, in 1977 built the Compass Point Studios in Nassau, Bahamas, Sadkin became head engineer (director) from the start, producing rock, reggae and new wave. He died in a motor bike accident 25 July 1987 in Nassau. |
