I first became interested in Klute because he was in a couble d'n'b mixes I had, notably DB's "Secret Art of Science." One of my favs of DB's, I love the more ambient d'n'b. Klute's "Lie Cheat & Steal" is brand new to me and I'm loving the first disc. Not so into the second one, but it is definitely unusual music, some really cool grooves. My favs: Candy Ass, Part of me, Problem reaction, and Oshima. I expect at least one of these to be in DB's next mix!

Klute's full length LP 'Lie, Cheat & Steal' has to be my best D&B album in years. The tracks all have elements that make them either funky, soulful, intelligent, heavy, deep or just downright nasty! An incredible collage, with this release most certainly expanding on the genre, providing needed progression. I've often found Klute's single releases to be more shallow, but the album sure hits the mark. 'Evo Sniffer' is just pure heavyweight bizness, 'Ambient Hell' has the most georgeous vocal samples since Foul Play in '94, and 'Song Seller' the deepest roller of the decade. Nuff said.
