SONOLOGYST

SONOLOGYST is the solo project of Raffaele Pezzella (born in Italy, 1971). R. Pezzella is a records and books editor, sound technician, musician. His project Sonologyst is based on the perpetual experiment in sound, with a special attention to the relationships between music and other art forms, including literature and modern mythologies. The music, generally dark and eerie, oscillates between the Fortean documentary and a modern concrete sound design. Since 2014 Sonologyst is the curator of Unexplained Sounds, a “Global Network of Aural Disorientation” whose main label, Unexplained Sounds Group, was founded in 2015. Along side the label activity he runs a streaming radio program (The Recognition Test), every Sunday 9.30 p.m. CET. In 2017 he founded the label Eighth Tower Records and in 2020 founded the label ZeroK. In 2021 the Swedish label Reverse Alignment became part of the Unexplained Sounds Group network. In 2021 the Eighth Tower label becomes a music and books publishing house, releasing a first book of tales inspired by the cosmic horror in Lovecraft’s narrative.
