I don't know him as a person but as a music maker Marc Anthony Clair is a seriously talented individual, obvious statement I know, maybe he finds it easy and would laugh at that comment or maybe he is critical and thinks he could do better, as a side he may not be able to take a compliment, he may be very modest, whichever the case, one thing is for sure, the scene greatly benefited from his input and those tunes are still as crisp as they ever were, timeless.

The masses are desperate for more from Manix II reach for Manix choons every time I have a mix, something about the quality, feel and original uplifting sounds. For me they always make me feel the same as the first time I heard them. Would love to hear some new or unreleased Manix productions in the near future! I have a 30 year black crack habit and needs feeding.....

It's amazing how this guy remains true to his sound for all these years, but did it really have to take him over 20 years to release an album?

The sound of my youth- really touched by his music. Still listen today because his tunes cheer me up. Even the dark bits aren't so serious. Try "Take A Look Around" on Enforcers Vol 3. Talented man who put soul into hardcore.

Marc Clair (Manix) is one of the most talented but modest hardcore, Jungle producers of the early 1990's. His music, judging by the various familiar chipmunk vocals and typical tech synths suggests not to take the tracks too seriously and just rave your socks off to them, but it's actually all very psychadelic, the strings and piano's conjure images of youth and freedom in the mind (well, I speak for myself, anyway). The 1991 hit 'Feel real good' has featured on most of the old skool/rave revival compilations over the past seven years being the most radio-friendly anthem compared to tracks such as 'Oblivion' and 'Alright wid me' which have similar euphoric quality's except for the hoover sounds mixed in. 'Harcore Jungalism' and 'When you hold me closer' were a taste of things to come before Jungle exploded onto the main-stream. But when you hear the blissful intensity of 'I can't stand it' and 'Special request', one can only wonder why 'Feel real good' is still top of the pops.

Mark "Manix" Mac is one half of the infamous 4 Hero ! Together with partner in crime Dego McFarline they dominated the early releases on the mighty Reinforced Record label ! Mark produced "Manik" piano/hardcore tunes under the name Manix, and I think Dego produced more intelligent/experimental hardcore(dare I say Drum n Bass) tunes under the name Tek-9 and the two brought both different elements together under the name 4 Hero. Funnily enough not many of their tunes feature on any of the rave compilations from back in the day ! Their most famous namely "Head in the Clouds" and "Feel Real Good" ! Tunes like "Alright Wid Me", "Let Your Mind Be Free", "Try To Love Me", "Hardcore Junglism" and "I Cant Stand It" were massively overlooked ! Respect Due !!!
