In 1974, Larry Marc-Aurele and Kenny Simmons co-founded Daybreak a top 40 and original band, playing the tri-state area and touring the east coast. Jazz, disco, pop, and funk were all styles mastered by this group. In 1980, Daybreak’s ‘Everybody Get Off’ Produced by Patrick Adams reached # 65 on Billboard’s Top 100 soul charts. Performed with Daybreak until 1982.
Noted that 2 members of Daybreak went on to greater success.
Kenny Simmons went on to be a part of the 3 time Grammy Award winning Motown group "The Commodores". Later to become the lead singer for "Atlantic Records - Quadrant 6- Body Mechanic. Guitarist Joe LaFragola went on to be one of the premiere studio guitarists in New York City music circles.
