The Cinémathèque Française holds one of the largest archives of films, movie documents and film-related objects in the world (more than 40 000 movies and documents).
Founded in 1936 in the twelfth parisian borough by Henri Langlois, Georges Franju, Jean Mitry and Paul-Auguste Harlé, its goal is to ensure the preservation, restoration and dissemination of film heritage.
Directed by Serge Toubiana and actually presided by Costa-Gavras.
