Radu Tănase, Dimitrie Cădere, Dan Slăvescu and Alexandru Cazaban were school mates at the Central School of Bucharest and Șerban Ciurea was at Lazăr High School, Bucharest.
Between November and December 1964 recorded their first single. After that, in 1965, they gave the baccalaureate exam.
They were initially some playful imitators who became progressively authors - songwriters - performers, reaching the top unofficial between '65-'68 top.
