Profile:
Wishbone Ash are a British rock band who achieved particular success in the early and mid-1970s with their most critically acclaimed records including Wishbone Ash (1970), Argus (1972), There's the Rub (1974) and New England (1976). Although the band lacked a definitive vocalist like Roger Daltrey (The Who), Ian Gillan (Deep Purple) or Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), they were famous for popularising the twin lead guitar.

Formed in Devon in 1969 out of the ashes of the group The Empty Vessels.
Original Wishbone Ash.
Andy Powell - lead guitar, vocals
Ted Turner - lead guitar, vocals
Martin Turner - bass, vocals

whoever wrote the artist profile here should be strung up. wishbone ash rank alongside led zep, deep purple, black sabbath, budgie, king crimson etc as one of the greatest seventies rock bands, hands down, no question.

that tired old chestnut 'cant sing' is hackneyed nonsense some imbecile who cannot think for himself has copied from another idiots review, and has been used to describe everyone from hendrix to dylan. no other voice would work with wishbone ash's brilliant compositions and expressiveness. 'cant sing' total and utter rot, who can sing, technically eh? pavarotti. so yeah, argus would be better with PAVAROTTI or THE GREAT CARUSO on vocal ? right.

and Argus is a monumental masterpiece thats more consistent than any other lp of that era, in that every song is perfect, from the blistering jam of Sometime World to the astonishing and exquisite suite of songs on side two. the only other 'side twos' i can think of that are as consistently brilliant are, and i say this proudly, side two of christopher cross' debut, opening with ride like the wind, and the unparalleled genius that is side two of Hounds of Love (the ninth wave suite) by the celestial madonna, Kate Bush.

someone should rewrite that mundane 60 iq max profile then you can erase my comments too. give this fantastic band a proper description, or maybe its supposed to be comedic " roger daltrey" ????

go and listen to persephone on theres the rub, slowburning brilliance with a controlled raging guitar expressing the mood of excellent and unusual lyrics, with a perfect vocal for that track.

discogs promotes friendly discourse between members, but in this case hang draw and quarter that f*ckwit profile author.

Phoenix, King Will Come, Sometime World, Persephone - Stone Cold Classics.
