Originating from California (USA) the band briefly relocated to Berlin, Germany, before returning to the San Francisco area. The band consists of Kristen Louise and Veuve Pauli.

Multidisciplined, (they are also active in various visual media), Sixteens often collaborate with visual artist Andrew Wingler for live shows.
