Profile:
DJ High-C & W. Brooks comprise the Dallas, Texas-based production/record procurement duo known for their instrumental hip hop releases throughout the early to mid aughts. Along with their musical output, their facial hair grooming habits have changed dramatically over the past two decades. Educated by Hip Hop and immersed within the culture of diggin', no matter the location. They have witnessed first hand what the state of Texas has to offer while on the search for those ever elusive LPs and 45s.

Couldn't agree more. It's such a shame they felt 'burned out' in High-C's words by the whole downtempo thing. I've (unsuccessfully) tried a couple of times to persuade High-C to release the best of the Rehash material on a single CD or at least digitally. This material is amongst the very best the genre has had to offer.

If you love Endtroducing, then their whole damn discography is required. I am not trying to belittle Rehash by comparing them to DJ Shadow of the Endtroducing era. I'm just telling you that if you have often felt disappointed that there is not more instrumental hip hop in the vein of Endtroducing vein, and, just as important, of Endtroducing quality and staying power, then you will be overjoyed to hear what these guys put out. Sure wish they were still at it.

Simply put, it is criminal that Rehash never gained traction beyond Soul Strut forum lurkers. Buy on sight.
