Lard Free

French avantgarde/prog rock band founded in December 1970 by Gilbert Artman, Francis Mativet, Jean-Jacques Miette, Dominique Triloff and Philippe Bolliet. Lard Free was basically Gilbert Artman and whoever he was working with, as a living band between 1971 and 1978. They were partly his singleminded vision of an experimental free rock group, but also prone to improvisation and the input of others. Thus all Lard Free releases had a style in spite of almost completely different line-ups on each record.
There are many other musicians that played in Lard Free that are not on record. One such unique line-up can be found on one side of the Clear Light Symphony album, featuring Chistian Boulé and Martin Isaacs. Other musicians that played in Lard Free included: Jean-Jacques Birgé of Birgé / Gorgé / Shiroc, which is why Lard Free's Antoine Duvernet played on Jean-Jacques Birgé, Francis Gorgé, Shiroc - Défense De.
I suppose everyone into this scene will already know the Heldon and Delired Chamelon Family tie-in's as well. It's all part of the wonderful complex Paris underground scene of the 1970's.
