Mike Hurwitz

British cello player and teacher, born in 1949
In 1970 he played with Centipede (3). Five years later he became a member of the Amphion String Quartet and remained with them for fifteen years before taking the position of the 4th cellist at the Philharmonia Orchestra (June 1989 - February 2016). Michael, his wife Miriam Keogh and their son Raphael Leo are members of the Goldcrest Ensemble. He was a teacher at the Trinity College Of Music, London for a decade but left and became a private tutor.
Son of Emanuel Hurwitz. (Raphael Leo and his brother Alex are members in the band Developers).
