American producer specialized in gospel and Christian Music.
Mackenzie moved from Worcester, Massachusetts to Nashville, Tennessee in 1964. He managed The Nashville Symphony, and then joined the John T. Benson Publishing Company in 1966 as creative director. He co-founded Paragon (5) with William Gaither (2) in 1975 and later became the president of Benson Records.
MacKenzie died at the age of 62 on October 20th, 2000, just 10 days before his induction into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
