Axel Rudi Pell

I have been let down by Axel one too many times. I'm going back through all his albums I own now, old and new, and I can't say I'm impressed by the newer stuff. I originally got into him because for years, Johnny Gioeli has been their singer, and he has one hell of a voice, but a good singer can only carry a band so far. Axel's riffs are stale 80% of the time, the drums are normally stock, and they haven't innovated at all since the late 90s. All the lyrics are the same: bland, and trying to sound more epic then they are. I suggest checking out Hardline, Gioeli's own band. They aren't metal, they are melodic rock for the most part, but their music is so much better.
