Hell yah to all the comments below. Karl was genius and it’s Americas loss that they didn’t get World Party. To heavy and to deep for them folks or they simply couldn’t handle the truth in Mr. Wallingers songs. One of the best artists, writers and producers to come from planet earth. Heart on sleeve influences better than anybody. Soul music my friends 🎶

Karl Wallinger was dealt a duff hand in the musical world. Every album he recorded was a masterpiece, ‘Goodbye Jumbo’ & ‘Egyptology’ being magnificent masterpieces.

The guy should have been massive, his music was only rivalled by that of Mike Scott. Forget those Numpties from Manchester, they were a joke.

I hope Karl gets over his issues he’s still young enough to rise again.

Can't wait for the Egyptology reissue. It's one of his best albums, every bit equal to Goodbye Jumbo. The psychedelic groove that runs through it is much more authentic sounding than most of the Britpop artists of the time (Oasis, Blur, Kula Shaker, etc.)

One of the best artists of the 80s/90s.....Wallinger and his crew consistently put up wonderful hit singles and superbly crafted LP's....he failed to charm the corporate world of MTV etc (although his first US single did manage to make their playlist)....in all of those Rolling Stone Top album charts of all time you'll never find any mention of World Party....ALL of his albums deserve to be on there!!
