Stoney & The Jagged Edge

Profile:

U.S. heavy psychedelic / proto punk rock band from Detroit, Michigan. The Jagged Edge (original band moniker) formed in early 1966. In the late Sixties they had a somewhat strong local following, playing the Grande Ballroom with local bands and opening for national acts - Cream as well as the Doors (blowing the Doors off stage according to one report) but then in October 1968 - after just 20 months together -- the band fell apart.

The Jagged Edge recorded an album (only 6 of the planned 9 original songs were recorded) in May 1968 at United Sound Studios, originally slated for release on Hugh "Jeep" Holland's Ann Arbor, Michigan based record label, A-Square Records. The studio album was found after Holland's death and posthumously released in 2014 as "Chasing Rainbows" by "Stoney & The Jagged Edge" on Big Beat Records.
