German audio and mastering engineer. He started in 1972 doing home recordings for folk band Gurnemanz. In September 1974 he started cutting lacquers at EMI-Electrola's Maarweg Studios in Cologne, where he was originally responsible for the singles catalogue and from 1976 onward for the rock and pop LP catalogue, exclusively doing DMM cutting starting in 1983. From 1978 on he also worked freelance as mastering engineer working with producers such as Conny Plank, Holger Czukay, Dieter Dierks and Gottfried Engels. In 1999, he founded Railroad Tracks in Kerpen-Buir and reorganised the EMI-Germany archive system.
