The beginnings of the Surf Raiders can be traced back to late 1962, when Bob Dalley heard "Pipeline" on radio station KFWB(980am in Los Angeles) for the first time. The sound of the song was so infectious, that he immediately ran out and bought a guitar and, within two weeks found himself in his first surf band, the Satellites. His love for the music stayed with him throughout the following years and changing music styles. In January of 1980 Bob set things in motion towards forming the Surf Raiders when he brought together a group of surf music enthusiasts and recaptured the sound and felling of those early sixties by promoting the same spirit that existed then.
