Subringor

Profile:
SUBRINGOR, formerly known as ILLFACE!, has exploded on the scene seemingly from nowhere. Formed in July of 1997 by Charlie "CHAZ" Goff and Jim Baker they quickly added Tony Lloyd and began hammering out what would become the beginnings of the SUBRINGOR sound. While trying to find a bassist to complete the backbone for a powerful rhythm section the lineup was expanded when Chris Phillips, Charlie's brother, joined to add a technical "agro-crunch" to the music. Mike Rodewald, next to join after picking up the mic during a rehearsal, brought to the mix a combination of rap style vocals layered with primal growls to blend with Jim Baker's piercing screams. Lance Eichler was the final piece to this growing puzzle, bringing his twisted blend of jazz and fusion on the six string bass.

SUBRINGOR has set themselves apart from their contemporaries with their intense live shows. The rhythm section of Lance Eichler and Tony Lloyd add a intricate but steady thumping and bumping presence to the songs. Related in real life as in their music the brother combination of Chris Phillips and Charlie "CHAZ" Goff bounce riff after riff off one another, making "CHAZ" the man with the crazy sounds and Chris the man with the tasteful crunch. With thought provoking lyrics on top of music that makes you move, Jim Baker and Mike Rodewald bring a unique vocal pattern the songs. Feeding off one another it becomes apparent that every word muttered and every scream released comes from their soul. SUBRINGOR'S live performance is packed with enough energy for everyone in the room. Once they step on stage their performance becomes personal. There is nothing pretentious about this band, the music is primal and all six members become entranced in their own worlds, giving the crowd a peek at their souls.

With each performance be it in their home state of Michigan or other areas where they've performed, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Iowa, North Carolina, Florida, SUBRINGOR take no prisoners. They come to share their brand of music to the masses. People want to classify and compare but there is no comparison, SUBRINGOR is SUBRINGOR there is no other like them. The word best used to describe them is simply, SUBRINGOR!
