Jan Jelinek's work as Farben is, in my opinion, his best. Everything Jan has released over the years has been superb but his Farben work has an energy about it which i don't feel is present in his other material.
This music is funky, fun and energetic house music which is accessable to anyone who just wants to dance and there is also a deep, technical side to it which will keep "experienced" listeners very interested.
Jan Jelinek's sound, no matter what name he uses, is unique and unlike anything else you're likely to hear.
Strong jazz, funk and dub influences and sampling galore, this is minimal house music with alot going on. I really don't think this man could ever put a foot wrong. Check out ALL work by Jan Jelinek (Farben, Gramm, The Exposures) today, without delay ;-)

This is the best minimal techno I have heard, therefore it's probably the best in the world. Don't stop at the 9 tracks on the album, get everything Jan has released under this monster alias. The jazz influences are subtle and give the tracks a very unique feel. It sounds like nothing else I've heard. The microhouse beats are tweaked to perfection, and always refreshing. My favourite track is probably "Farben Says: Love To Love You Baby" however it's unfair to choose as the output is so consistent. A sonic feast.

If you translate the German word Farben to English it means “colours”. So, the first Farben releases (KLANG 19, 25, 32, 39, 48 and 65) with their different cover colours black, white, cyan, yellow, magenta are like a concept work – these are the colours you need to print, and every each colour is made of mixing them. The photos used as pictures for the covers are photos taken from the court process to the so called Baader-Meinhof Gang, that later bacame the Red Army Faction (RAF).

Farben tracks are great. deep dubby and minimal! the farben track on daniel bell's button down mind disc, "live at the sahara, tahoe 1973" is incredible. farben combines all these great elements. im curious as to what the future holds for this guy! great stuff!
