He started his musical career at a very young age.
As a young boy already he was moved through music.
He came to live in the Netherlands in 1975, where he
became RastaFarian at the age of 20 years.
After working with various artists and started a
couple of bands (i.e. Dasjan and The Revivals)
KENDREAD decides to continue as solo artist in the
year 1991. He releases the cd “Culture Crash” in 1993
with the musical accompany of Dasjan.
KENDREAD’s writes his own music and lyrics and is easy
to recognize due to it’s unique sound. Religion, progressiveness
and realism influences his lyrics.
“I create my own sound”, KENDREAD explains, ”No cross-over
to hiphop or rap, only pure ROOTS REGGAE”.
“The Warriors”, it was the first reggae band KENDREAD played with.
After that he founded in 1985, together with some friendly musicians,
the formation “The Gideons”.
With them he recorded the single “National Team”.

Jahman the base on witch the group called “Dasjan” (a mountain in
Ethiopia) was founded.
That same year KENDREAD joined ArtCon Music Productions, founded
by Arthur Conley (1946 - 2003†)
Dasjan performed in 1991 at “The Grote Prijs van Nederland” and made
it through to the semi finals.
They were also invited for live performances
for several national radio stations.
Furthermore KENDREAD decides that year to go on as a solo artist
1992, KENDREAD performs as a guest musician with the reggae
formation “The Creator’s” from Arnhem. With them he releases the cd
“Sranang lobie foe mie hatie”. In Suriname, this cd becomes so popular
that when “The Creator's” went out for a three months tour at there home
country, they received a hero’s welcome and the song “Sranang” was
chosen as national song.
“Culture Crash” is the first cd KENDREAD releases as solo artist in 1993.

proven to be a big success and experience.
The year 2002 brought a lot of changes, also for KENDREAD.
That year he decides to focus more to make the youth excided for music and culture.
Although KENDREAD puts in almost al his time with this, he still finds the
time to work on his new cd, together with his new band “The Maroons”.
