Linkin Park

Profile:
Alternative Rock / Modern Rock band from Agoura Hills, California. Formed in 1996.

Linkin Park are one of the most popular bands of the so called "nü-metal" movement, along with Limp Bizkit, Korn and several others. Their sound is a wide range of influences, including metal, alternate rock, hip-hop, electronica and industrial. Linkin Park's debut album "[Hybrid Theory]" was a multi-platinum smash worldwide, selling over 13 million copies, 8 million of them in the US alone. Reanimation is the correspondent remix album.

Originally named Xero (5), the band changed its name to Hybrid Theory (2). However, this name caused a legal dispute when Hybrid, a popular House music group, threatened to sue Hybrid Theory if the name was not changed. Searching for a new name, Chester Bennington was driving along when he saw a street sign for the park named "Lincoln Park" in Los Angeles. Originally, the band members wanted to use the name "Lincoln Park", however they changed it to "Linkin" to acquire the internet domain "linkinpark.com".

Frontman Chester Bennington committed suicide on July 20, 2017.

So that was true after all. You don't what you've got 'til it's gone.
Your memory will live on, as we will remember you as a fantastic human being.
You will forever be missed.
Love you lots, Chaz.

R.I.P. Chester. Even though I stopped to actively listen to the band with ATS, I still appreciated the band as a whole. Especially Chester. What a incredible voice... You will never be forgotten!

I really loved the first 2-3 albums of Linkin Park. But already with MTM it was noticeable that they went more mainstream.
Well, A Thousand Suns just proved this. The album was a major disappointment for me. And Living Things was just a sad follow up. The Hunting Party was not my taste. So I guess in the end the band is pretty much dead for me now. I often listen to their first 2-3 albums but that's it. Reanimation was also kinda good and I am not that much into remix albums. They will never reach their old quality again. What stays are memories and the albums, singles.
