Existing first as a solo project from 2002-2004, the origins of Nigajyo lay heavily in influence from Bathory and Burzum. Opting to temporarily work with a live line-up from 2005-2006, Nigajyo joined forces with members of the recently disbanded Orna Annon
and released the "Fey" cassette in the summer of 2006. Fey was backed by a handful of east coast-only tours. Doing away with the full line-up and returning to a solo project shortly thereafter, Nigajyo went on hiatus for the latter half of the decade and into 2010. The band saw a revival in 2016 with the cross-country relocation of members from the 2006 "Fey" release and released the "Janus" demo tape in 2017. Following Janus came the Basileus EP, which was released via split CD with Oakland, CA's Spellbinder. The band currently resides in Austin, TX and is working on its first official full length release for an early 2019 release. In the meantime, there sits dozens of unreleased 4-track recordings from the early ice cavern beginnings of Nigajyo (2002-2006) which await a proper unearthing.
