Vicci Wardman


British classical violist and tutor. Born in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England.
Founding member of the Sorrel Quartet, which made its début in 1987. On leaving the Quartet in 2000, she took up the position of Principal Viola with the Philharmonia Orchestra for seven years, a position shared with Rachel Roberts (2). Before this appointment, she was the Principal Viola of The Manchester Camerata for two years, and for many years Principal Viola of The John Wilson Orchestra. In 2010, she was appointed Principal Viola of The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, leaving 12 months later to return to full-time freelancing. Member of Mobius (7), Pixels Ensemble, Psappha Ensemble, and violist in the Eroica Quartet. Joint Principal Viola with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Vicci Wardman played with a number of orchestras, incl. BBC Philharmonic, and Northern Sinfonia. Tutor in Viola at the Royal Northern College Of Music.
